I played around with it this morning and found that if you run it through virtualbox that it does connect to the internet. Like Ahmed said it doesn't have android market which is a bummer because it would be a nice place to mess around with apps in

@ manlike

quote from http://googleblog.blogspot.com/2009/07/introducing-google-chrome-os.html

Google Chrome OS is a new project, separate from Android. Android was designed from the beginning to work across a variety of devices from phones to set-top boxes to netbooks. Google Chrome OS is being created for people who spend most of their time on the web, and is being designed to power computers ranging from small netbooks to full-size desktop systems. While there are areas where Google Chrome OS and Android overlap, we believe choice will drive innovation for the benefit of everyone, including Google.

That's at least some positive news after reading their Chrome OS announcement. Only if Google spent more tome and dev on bringing Android to Desktop rather than dream about a Web OS...

Scott, one thing to keep in mind is that this is still in major development, so you're going to be seeing things that are rather odd. The biggest thing to keep in mind is that this will probably be for demoing purposes, rather than a full blown OS; a layman's demo, rather than the SDK emulator, if you will. The screen shots are real, provided to us by Devolio, a trusted member of the AF/Phandroid community. There is even a download available through the via Google Code link.

Happy OS'ing!

So Android is going to become an entire Linux distro?

Interesting......

Why are they bothering with Chrome (netbook, not browser) then?
