HTC Hero on Orange UK Site, Price Coming Tomorrow

by Rob Jackson on June 30th, 2009 at 10:19 am

The HTC Hero has finally landed on the Orange UK website but sports an unfortunate “Coming Soon” for those wishing to pin down a price, launch date or even Pre-Order. We saw the HTC Hero hit Amazon yesterday and there is little doubt that T-Mobile UK will announce the Hero as the G1 Touch in the near future.

Graphite looks interesting… Looks more like a dying lilac color to me though. Any ideas when we might see a smart phone with wifi 802.11 b/g AND n?

  • Mansn

Any guess as to what the price plan will be like? I am guessing 40 pounds a month, but I really want it to be 35 …

  • b7ryn

hmm… still no prices on UK site…

  • Ross Gray

Orange will do the phone for free on a £39.15 a month tarrif. Includes 1200 mins, unlimited texts, and mobile browsing (how much im unsure of) and recon release is due for early july :D

  • Ethel Aardvaark

Any idea how much Orange will customise the phone with their own bloatware rubbish?

  • Squires

They won’t customise it with their bloatware as they can’t for a change :)

  • Ses

I heard that the phone would only be available for free on a 24month contract. Has anyone else heard that.

  • Paul Rohe

I got an HTC Hero from fones4u, 24 month contract with Orange and 18 month upgrade option; 1200 minutes, unlimited texts and unlimited internet access ( ie 1 gig a month, which should be enough for mosr folks) at £35 per month.

  • Paul Rohe

Also, just upgraded to the latest ROM build, woohoo…much faster, easy as pee. Using Win 7.

    I love this phone !!!
