I look at the Google search as a backup to Shop Savvy when it can't find something. It has more features like saving wishlists and alerts.

There is no link for "scan barcode" on the Google search page after navigating like above.

Shop Savvy keeps your search history which I often use. Once I get home from a store I can check for reviews and info on my scans. The full Google shopping has lists but the mobile one does not.
Anyway, it's great to have both as their databases miss stuff (while trying it out SS found something I had laying around my desk and Google didn't).

(I am a developer of Barcode Scanner)

Don't feel too bad for ShopSavvy -- as it remains in my view a significantly nicer UI for comparison shopping. Their scanner is based in part on the barcode scanning library that Google originally developed anyway (of which Barcode Scanner is a part); Google also awarded them a nice chunk of cash for SS too in the developer challenge. Barcode Scanner is not new either -- has been around since day 1 of Android. But I agree, I like many people will be keeping ShopSavvy handy too.

Long press on that button and add it as a bookmark, then go to your desktop and add an Icon there... it's WAY faster than opening ShopSavvy, all you have to do is press it and BAM you're scanning a barcode... pretty nice actually!
