T-Mobile G3 is Huawei Android

We might not have SEEN much Android at CTIA Wireless 2009 but finally we’re hearing plenty. After Samsung let loose that they’ll have an Android in June with several more to follow, a Huawei spokeswoman said, “I can confirm that Huawei will be releasing the third Google phone on T-Mobile this year.”
This report comes from MobileToday.co.uk and noting that little “UK” bit on the end, I would suspect the G3 (as they call it) would launch in T-Mobile’s worldwide markets first, later arriving in the United States. But lets hope I’m wrong. Lets also remember the quote is unsourced and the information about it being dubbed the G3 is far from concrete… although it sounds reasonable.
According to to the article the T-Mobile G3 will be:
- Low cost device
- 5MP camera
- 3.5mm headphone jack
- WiFi
- 3G
The release date isn’t until after July 2009 and considering T-Mobile will want the G2 on its network for awhile before they release the G3, this isn’t too surprising. And by the way, we kinda sorta already knew this.

So this means the G2 will have to launch between May 1st and July 31st, good to know. We should be hearing about an official announcement soon if this is the case.

I personally don’t really care that much about a headphone jack (well a little I guess). I DO want stereo Bluetooth though.

I spoke to T-Mobile and they told me the G-2 was made and it was sold to the European market. So the G-3 will be out in Sept 09 [hopefully]
I hope its in colors like black, brown, white, pink.

the g2 sucks and its ugly compared to the new models that are out..im glad the europeans recieved it because all the anticipation and hype created by the media for the g2 would have been a wast of time and money…i hope the g3 actually looks like the prototype because the iphone-look is HOT AND FRESH..i hope the tech is upgraded to because the specs lacked some umph if they want to face some real competititor…iphone maybe
