Can’t afford to splurge and pay for the G1 all at G-once? A new policy by T-Mobile might help soften the load. According to MobileCrunch, T-Mobile will allow customers to spread the cost of new hardware across the next 4 months of their contract, with the first of those coming as an upfront payment.

No word yet on whether or not extra-fine i-need-a-magnifying-glass font spills any truths about late fees on those payments or other troubling details but at this point, it looks like the real deal. Other carriers should adopt this as it would be a win/win for both parties involved.

  1. Considering the hardware is not where they make their money, but keeping a customer on their network is where make it. It makes perfect sense.
