Mine was a grand total of $179.99, I had to pay nothing up front, no activation fee, no first month and or any of that useless jazz.

Kearns is correct, the G1 retails for about $300. I was able to get the phone at $180 because I opened a contract, however my friend, who was already in a T-mobile contract, had to buy it for around $300.

Uh, it doesn't cost $179.99, it costs $179.99 with contract. I wasn't up for a renewal so I had to fork considerably more, it cost me over $300.00
