Seems ok for me. My phone was activated on the 20th... it has been 10 days and no data plan loss. I received a free text message today that the changes have been made to my account, and it has still been working

I've had the same problems, however when I checked my plan on T-Mobile's website, it said I had the data plan. I had to search for all available networks in the settings on my phone to get it back.

Thanks for posting this Rob. You and JB are correct. To further add, I did what JB did, sign up online, but I have a second G1 and needed to call to activate that one. I also called to make sure I wasn't going to get double charged.

The most annoying thing about this, lack of automatic switchover and no notification to any customers who just paid $180 for a new device.

Be aware it can take as a long as 2 hours to get data service back.

Mine shut off yesterday. I logged into My T-Mobile and confirmed I had no data plan. I selected the G1 base plan (400 message version) and a few hours later had my data back. No need to call in.
