G1 at Wal-Mart Delayed Until Nov. 3rd

It was quite a surprise when Wal-Mart announced they would begin selling the T-Mobile G1 for 15% less than T-Mobile themselves. Early adopters were a bit frustrated and now the potential Wal-Mart purchasers have a reason to be frustrated, too.

Attention Wal-Mart Shoppers: The G1 will not go on sale at Wal-Mart until or around November 3rd. Shipping delays have pushed back the retail release and a whirlwind of confusion has surrounded the situation. Several AndroidForums.com members called Wal-Mart asking them when they would be available for sale… and their collective responses could only be categorized as “cluelessness”.

Now we know why. Don’t make any assumptions that the November 3rd date is spot on, either. I’m sure Wal-Mart would rather start selling them now rather than later. So if you’re keeping glued to your local Wal-Mart, make sure to let everyone know when you first spot them for sale… and snap some pics and send them our way!
