Leaving Sprint is the best decision any current Spent customer can do.
I work for T-mobile (Suburb of Philly) and our store alone and have had at least 500 people come in asking to preorder the G1 and when I told them they cant. They said they will be back the 22nd. I definitely think T-mobile will sell around 3 million by the end of 2008.

Cleetose, don’t give up on Sprint too soon. Rumor has it the sprint android phone will arrive before 2009 with “additional features”. Can’t wait.

1.5 million where all the pre orders, each tmobile presale was 500 thousand units, they sold out three times so thats your 1.5 million. they said that on release day they will ship the phones to customers that preordered and have phones for walk in customers. so we can easily deduce that HTC has produced well over 2 million units. and with all this success you can bet that HTC is hard at work pumping out the holiday stock as we speak. your probably looking at well over 4 million units in 2008 alone.

And this is only 2008, and only Tmobile. Dare i say it, it will be a massacre for the iPhone, and anything else that stands in the way of Android.

That news is just a rumor…
And I don’t know where do you get those 1.0M extra devices. HTC wouldn’t make such a high number of devices in a new platform.
If anything, 1.5M would be the total number of preorders. And if the G1 sells anything near 2M devices before year’s end, THAT will be a big success.

Don’t get the party hats out just yet — the 1.5 million figure isn’t coming from T-Mobile, just a couple online postings with no source of the sales figure referenced. T-Mobile has not issued a statement regarding sales of the G1.

I know I’m dropping AT&T as soon as I am able to purchase the phone, not quite sure when that will be though because it seems like they are going to go fast :(
