I dislike Slide and Flip phones due to the fact that they are so fragile. In all the photo's I've seen of the G1, it appears that the screen is slightly lop-sided when fully extended. My work HTC Touch Dual is already starting to show signs of derailing and every Nokia N95 i've seen has scratch-marks across the slides. How robust is the Slide?

Is GPS, if it exists, open to all applications? Can third-party market applications exist on the phone (meaning are they locked out from installing other applications)?
