Here is the quote from the original article: "T-Mobile and Google will be making an announcement this month in New York City," two people told Reuters on Wednesday, adding Sept 23 was a likely date for the announcement. So it would appear to be an "announcement". I'm wondering if Google/HTC/T-Mobile are going to make a big media event out of it. That's not very Google-Like but then again, they aren't the only ones who have a show to run. I echo your sentiments that an "announcement' isn't as cool as a "launch" but I'll take what I can get!
