I would have to agree on the naming scheme. Just look at the latest Sidekick from T-Mobile USA,, the "Sidekick 2008"??? What kind of name is that? Is T-Mobile USA running out of names or are they not paying their R&D employees enough? LOL! What does HTC think of this naming scheme from T-Mobile USA? After all you can not currently register your HTC devices on HTC's official website. I am sure there will be a MAJOR press release from HTC about this phone in the short term.

It will take at least two months between certifying the final Android platform and releasing it on a device to the customer. Since we know that Android is not complete, the math doesn't add up for an October 1st release; pre-sells, that could be today or anytime, maybe it's true. This may also be insiders leaking info (possibly true, possibly not) to try to kill the rumors that Android is going to be delayed. There is no official release of info anywhere, no one's willing to back up anything.

I hope this isn't a tease. I can't confirm this with my former T-Mobile employees but of course they didn't even know about the SK3 until a week before it's release. The timing would make sense though; T-Mobile launching 3G on October 1st and their recent announcement of opening up their app-store. C'mon, G1, please be real!

Seems a bit unfair to have this great new open source system debuting on one exclusive network. Come to Sprint soon!

Suprised you bit on this one...Im waiting to hear back from my HTC and T-Mobile contacts for any confirmation.

So far it looks doubtful from the T-Mobile end.

I will post once something substantial validates this.
