You hit the nail on the head with this one as most people are confused to what Android really is, but essentially any phone that has Android installed on it would essentially be a GPhone.

I posted about this as well today at http://www.googleandblog.com/hollywood-dont-know-googily-about-android/314/

I think google would be better off teaming up with one (or more) of their hardware vendors and releasing a gPhone branded phone. At a minimum they should rename Android to gPhone OS. The fact is that gPhone is just a better name than Android. If I ever mention Android when talking to people i just get confused looks but if I say gPhone then everyone seems to know what I'm talking about.

So Ammunition Group is making a phone running the Google Android OS, that doesn't mean that Google is going to be the company actuallz developping the phone and selling it. With the Android project, Google is working on hardware, thez are working with Motorola, with Samsung, with HTC, with Marvell, with Texas Instruments, NTT Docomo, China Mobile and many other hardware manufacturers. Google has some of the worlds most talented hardware people on their Android team, the fact that Google is helping all those hardware companies successfully launch gPhones doesn't mean that Google is directly going to be selling and branding all the phones.
