Here we are almost a year later and still no Android device on Verizon. I have been a loyal VZW customer for 3 years, but if they or someone else doesn't give me a better android phone soon, the Pre is looking better and better.

I've already exchanged emails with them. They responded with a LIMO pitch as well as a pitch for the open network. Hopefully HTC will start selling unlocked Dreams by the end of the year that run on this service.

Agree with Jeff. I'm getting fed up with AT&T, and as soon as I finish this message, I'm going to hop over to Verizon and tell them that an Android Verizon phone would earn them an immediate new customer (along with my 4-line family plan, which I plan on upgrading to Premium Full Everything (or whatever their maxed-out plan will be called). If they get it beaten into their heads that adopting Android phones will earn them plenty of new customers, it should help them make the (what should be obvious) decision.

I called Verizon and told them that if they miss the boat on the Android I will be leaving. Not that matters being one person, but they told me that if you have Verizon it is imperative that you call them or send email to them telling them to support android. I think if enough of us do this, they will consider this.

That news sounds reassuring in the ideal of creating a nice open mobile network. It looks like that consumers are finally going to have their say, and not be tied down to this handset, this software on this particular network. And it was all bred through conflict. I just wish that that sort of competition would happen in here in Australia and make the market and bit more open.
